Steve Gaffney

Steve Gaffney


As Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Gaffney brings over 30 years of international experience in operations, technology, logistics and increasing profitable revenue to the WellVia team.

Before joining WellVia in 2015, Mr. Gaffney most recently served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DynCorp International. DynCorp International is a leading global services provider of aviation, logistics, training, intelligence and operational solutions with over 25,000 employees. Under Steve’s leadership, the company improved its new business win rates, reduced working capital and increased customer satisfaction while developing new customers in adjacent market segments. Prior to leading DynCorp, Mr. Gaffney served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IAP Worldwide Services and President of ITT Defense. During his tenure at both of these companies, he implemented a leadership vision that led to the doubling of both EBITDA and business development win rates.

Mr. Gaffney holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Lafayette College and is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Champion and Green Belt.

Todd Thoman

Todd Thoman


Mr. Thoman is the President of WellVia and brings over 25 years of experience in multiple industries throughout the United States, Europe and South America.

In addition to being involved in the company’s sales and marketing functions, Mr. Thoman is responsible for the company’s brand representation and in establishing their strategic partnerships as they expand their ‘Connected-Health’ footprint both domestically and internationally.

Prior to co-founding WellVia, Mr. Thoman was the president of MyMedicTeam, a successful sales channel for one of the largest telehealth providers in the U.S. Through his efforts and contacts, MyMedicTeam built a sales force that specialized in Third Party Administrator (TPA’s), corporate, hospitality, and education institutions.

Before becoming active in the healthcare arena, Mr. Thoman held a number of senior executive positions in sales, human resources and corporate communications for direct selling, energy and global retail companies.

Mr. Thoman is an active volunteer and philanthropist for causes related to animal welfare, arts and culture, children, education and health. His commitment to service was awarded with a Presidential Service Medal. He received his B.A. in Humanities from the University of Southern California.

Peyton Reaves

Peyton Reaves


Mr. Reaves is the Chief Technology Officer for WellVia. His extensive experience as a technology executive and leader in the healthcare industry compliments the WellVia vision and purpose of providing innovative healthcare and wellness solutions in a secure and friendly manner to patients across the world. In his capacity, Peyton oversees all technology strategy, infrastructure and development efforts within the WellVia brand.

Prior to WellVia, Mr. Reaves was the CIO for two of the largest telemedicine companies in the world, where he was able to capitalize on his vast experience in business intelligence for hospitals and pharmacies and patient prescription history & reconciliation. His additional knowledge of insurance and government payers, makes Mr. Reaves an industry game changer.

Peyton’s career began in software development for Hospital Corporation of America – the largest for profit hospital organization in the world. After developing and leading software projects for this Fortune 100 company, he was responsible for the oversight of development efforts for an organization that pioneered the cloud storage industry. Following this assignment, Peyton served as Executive Director overseeing one of the most prominent business intelligence platforms for hospitals and pharmacies on the market and was responsible for building an entire new line of business, providing one of the first comprehensive patient prescription history services to various Emergency and Ambulatory organizations. Mr. Reaves earned his B.S. in Management of Information Systems (MIS) and Information Assurance (IA) from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He and his family currently reside in Dallas, Texas.

Kate Sowerwine

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Kathryn Sowerwine is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She trained at the prestigious National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. After completing her residency at Georgetown University Hospital and joining the faculty there, she decided to pursue her passion in studying immunodeficiency and published papers at the national level. Beyond her research interests, she is also very committed to her private practice in Northern Virginia that serves the needs of patients afflicted with Allergic and Dermatologic conditions. She is on the forefront of cutting edge technology that aims to bridge gaps in medical care through the use of telemedicine. Dr. Sowerwine has also volunteered time abroad in Cameroon, Africa to serve disadvantaged patients for primary care needs. Her vision is to bring equitable health care coverage for all, regardless of socio-economic status.

Cathy Fogliano

Cathy Fogliano

Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Ms. Fogliano is the Senior Vice President for WellVia, where she oversees the company’s sales and marketing efforts in addition to managing all client relations. Cathy’s collective expertise expands over 25 years in the healthcare industry.

As one of the foremost experts in Telehealth, Ms. Fogliano was one of the first individuals responsible for the introduction of ‘Connected Health’ into the national healthcare marketplace. After successfully owning her own insurance brokerage and consulting firm, Cathy dedicated herself to the telemedicine industry in 2004, where she was the first sales and marketing executive for our industry’s only publicly traded company, Teladoc. Several years later and with a passion for serving others in need, Ms. Fogliano left Teladoc to bring Telehealth to the people of Africa, through a partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Upon returning to Texas and co-founding a healthcare analytics company, Cathy joined WellVia where she continues to make a difference; one life at a time. As we continue to expand our offerings, we are proud to have a true telemedicine pioneer as a part of our executive leadership team.

Ms. Fogliano is an active volunteer and philanthropist for causes that relate to children and the protection of animal welfare
